Custom Grip Socks

In a sport where Stevie-G-style slipping has been known to severely derail the career of even a talented player, football grip socks have come on the scene to offer players an upgraded playing experience. Made with specialized features that improve grip to help with ball and movement control, these socks are also promising enhanced traction compared to traditional soccer socks.

Grip socks are not limited to the game of football, however, and can be used for other sports or activities that require improved foot support. They are often worn by people who spend a lot of time on their feet, such as dancers or Pilates instructors. In addition to helping with posture and alignment, grip socks can reduce the risk of minor injuries, such as blisters or abrasions.

Some Pilates studios prefer their clients to workout barefoot, and the best grip socks allow for this. They’re usually designed with breathable fabrics that keep feet cool, dry and comfortable during intense classes. They can also have a slight compression effect to help with foot issues like plantar fasciitis or arthritis.

The ToeSox brand of grip socks are made in the US from a blend of organic cotton, nylon and spandex that’s machine washable. They have an elasticated top that helps the sock to stay in place, and they’re available in a wide range of colors and patterns. Cook says they “have a nice amount of stretch, are snug without being too tight around the toes and hold up well through several washings.”

Designed with a soft, Supima cotton-polyester blend with elastane for grip, these socks feature earthy solids and striped solids in all gender shoe sizes. They’re pricier than other grip socks — $16 per pair — but Lembach and Idama say they’re worth the investment, citing their durability and comfort. custom grip socks
